Continuing with my densitometric tests, here is the brand new Kentmere 200.
First off, the H+D curve. As you can see, we are getting nice box speed even at a slightly too low contrast. It was developed in XTOL 1+1 for 8min at 20c with normal agitation.
Curve is nice and straight, a slight toe in the shadow area but looks just fine.
Here it is shot at EI 100, 200 and 400. As you can see latitude is good. Grain is not fantastic but somewhere in between Kentmere 100 and 400.
All in all, for the price, Kentmere 200 is a fine emulsion. For me personally, I don’t really see any need for it. I wonder if this is some budget version of SFX200? Just skip the infrared stuff and put it in another contained and voila, you have a new “film stock” as the kids say.
Anyway, I’m glad Harman is doing some R&D and releasing new stuff. That’s it for this time, thank you for reading.
